Hi, I’m Ciara gogan.

A little about me and my journey…

I am an intuitive, caring, empathetic person. I am passionate about making a positive impact. I had an experience recently that reconnected me with my exuberance for life (I’m happy to share more about this if you’re curious!), and needed to channel that energy into doing more, and so Uplift DEI was born!

I am a seasoned leader in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). With certifications from eCornell and Harvard Business School in Diversity & Inclusion and Racial Equity respectively, I draw on over two decades of experience as a woman in technology and a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community to empower organizations to cultivate inclusive workplaces. I am a member of the Board of Directors for Pride in Our Workplace, was recognized as a 2024 Mosaic honoree for Mass TLC’s Tech Top 50 Awards, and created and lead DEIB Day for Leadership South Shore annually. Beyond my achievements in DEIB, I am celebrated for my facilitation skills that foster open dialogue and growth. Inspired by my life experiences, I transitioned to coaching, empowering individuals facing similar barriers. My journey from technology to coach and on to DEIB leadership was shaped by my upbringing in Ireland, where being gay was a criminal offense when I was growing up.

This personal perspective fuels my commitment to fostering environments where every individual feels valued and respected. As a coach and workshop leader, I have empowered marginalized groups across various industries, and challenged organizations to embrace discomfort and drive meaningful change. My approach not only addresses systemic barriers but also nurtures genuine understanding and empathy, making me a trusted ally and advocate for inclusivity in every space I influence. In my last corporate role, I pioneered groundbreaking initiatives, including a company-wide allyship program, building and restructuring ERGs, and creating a resource guide for gender transition, driving significant increases in workplace inclusivity as affirmed by employee surveys. I am also a writer, with contributions to Huffington Post, Thrive Global, and other platforms. My writing amplifies the voices of marginalized communities and challenges readers to embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion.
